Ajman Free Zone company setup

Ajman Free Zone is run by the Ajman Free Zones Authority. It is the emirate's own free zone, not a private company working inside it. It is next to Ajman Port, and Sharjah and Dubai airports are a normal drive away. This location is the main reason to choose it: it is built for goods that arrive, are stored and then leave again.

It gives the usual free zone package: a trade licence, company papers and an establishment card for sponsoring residence visas. Like every zone on this list, you can own 100% of the company. What makes it different is the property behind the licence: business centres, offices, warehouses, staff housing and land, as well as the online-only packages most zones now sell.

The authority also runs special hubs for some industries: e-commerce, AI and robotics, and a hub for freelancers and new businesses. This means each hub has its own activity list and package, instead of a general licence stretched to fit.

We are appointed by both Ajman authorities, and they are for different needs. ANC (Ajman NuVentures Centre) is a newer online zone with many activities and almost no buildings or land. Ajman Free Zone is the government zone with the port, the warehouses and the land.

If you are a consultancy, an online business or someone setting up from abroad, ANC is usually the quicker route and we will tell you so. If you import, store, assemble or distribute anything, AFZ has space for it. A licence from ANC will not give you a warehouse.

A firm that works with only one of them will just call both "an Ajman licence". Because we work with both, our comparison is useful.

It suits traders and distributors who need storage, light industrial businesses, e-commerce businesses that keep their own stock, and companies that need lower costs than Dubai to make money. It suits businesses that want the port right next to them instead of using a courier to reach it.

It does not suit a business whose clients will check the address and expect Dubai. It does not suit a business controlled by another authority. Financial services, insurance, healthcare, education and legal work each need approval from their own authority, and a free zone licence does not replace that. And it does not suit anyone who needs to sell directly to customers inside the UAE as a local supplier. That needs a mainland licence.

The mistake we see is the same in every low-cost zone: a licence bought on price that did not cover what the business actually did. We ask what you plan to do before we tell you where to do it. In Ajman, there are two different right answers.

We apply to the authority directly, not through another agent. The authority's questions come straight to us, and we can answer them.

It also means you can trust our advice. We work with zones in six emirates, including both Ajman authorities. We earn nothing extra by recommending this zone, or by not recommending it. When we send you to Ajman instead of Dubai, we earn less.

Think carefully about banking with any lower-cost zone. Which banks accept which activities from which emirate keeps changing, and a licence no bank will accept is not a saving. We check this before you set up the company, not after.

We do not publish a separate AFZ licence fee. It depends on your business activity, the number of visas and, in this zone more than most, whether you rent space. A warehouse and a desk are very different costs. We give you a written price once we know what you need.
